Physie has competitions! These are great ways to meet other people who do Physie, make new friends, develop our club spirit, but most importantly build confidence! It’s important to bring your children to these comps even just to watch and support their friends (if for some reason they don't compete).
Nervous or hesitant about comps? We encourage you to ask other mothers and children within the club not just the ladies at the desk. No competitions are compulsory.
Interclubs – Are held usually in August. Mini competitions between clubs, a way to practise your Physie, see how others are interpreting the Physie syllabus and gain confidence with the current syllabus.... It's often the first time physie people hit the floor to compete for the years annual competitions.
Champion Girl – First round of the competition is Zone, competing against other clubs in your district. Placegetters move to nationals, zone finalists move on to repechage for another chance to compete against all zone finalists from around the country for a place to move to nationals.
Team competitions – There are 8 girls in a team. A fun day where children compete to represent the club. The aim? Precision timing as well as looking for all the things required in champion girl. Club grading is
determined by the team results.
BJP have specific leotards required to compete in all competitions throughout the year. They are made by Danzdesign and are run past BJP every time a new style is brought out. There are two ordering periods a year (the first one is the most important).
Each year the parents and family members of the club are invited to come and watch their child perform the dances they have been learning all year!! It's amazing to see how far they come!
Presentation Night -
Girls and Ladies receive prizes for their achievements throughout the year! There is a party first to reward the girls hard work. Then a presentation night follows where family and friends are invited to attend.
